Saturday, April 19, 2003.  Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding efforts.  Other participants included  Keith & Pam Kingdon (Houston), John & Cindy Bartos (Houston), Ann Derby (Houston), Mary Carter (Houston), Matt & Kay Dunaway (Galveston), Jack & Carolyn Boyd (Plano), Carole Ann Boyd (Dallas), Barbara Hudson (Dallas), Gordon & Sue Walker and sons Adam and Zane (Oak Leaf - near Waxahachie), Sonia Reavis (Denton), Taylor Jones (Mansfield), Merrill Jones (Mansfield), Diane Jones (Jonesville), Ron Munden (Scottsville), Jean Werneke (Uncertain), Susie Taylor (Uncertain), Marshall & Cindy Jones and daughter Katherine (Shreveport), and Tom Walker (Jefferson).

Location:  The banding activities took place just west of Caddo Lake in Marion County on Boots Walker Road (near Jefferson, Texas).

Weather Conditions:  The morning temperature was in the mid-60's and the afternoon high was 76.  It was breezy with threatening rain clouds.

Time:  We opened the nets at 9:45 and the last one was closed at 6:15 p.m.  (At the start we had several nets set up yet closed until we had a better idea what the weather was going to do.)

Number of Nets:  Ten (10)

Next Banding Date:  Regular bird banding activities at this location will be suspended for the summer and will not resume again until next fall.  Watch our bird-banding home page or check with Tom Walker [E-mail: twalkercaddolaketx(at)att.net] for the latest information.
