Saturday, April 11, 2009:  Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding activities.  Other participants and visitors included Tom Walker of Jefferson; Tony Novak of Karnack; Anissa Camp with the Fort Worth Zoo Bird Department;

Weather Conditions:  The morning low temperature was 48 F and the afternoon high was 70 F.  It was sunny in the morning with high clouds, and in the afternoon heavier clouds moved in.  A breeze came from the southeast. 
 

Number of Nets:  Twelve (12)

 

Time:  We started setting up nets at 8:20 a.m. and all nets were closed by 5:15 p.m

 

Note:  For the first time, we caught and banded an Ovenbird.
