Saturday, January 24, 2009:  Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding activities.  Other participants and visitors included Tom Walker of Jefferson, Tony Novak of Karnack; Mark Moore of Karnack; Ronald Hollomon of Jefferson; Trinity & Ashley Grisham and son, Kayden, of Jefferson; John Owings of Dallas; Jim Lambright of Dallas; Kepha Luster of Judea; Jason Mathis of Smithland; Worthy George of Smithland; Stefan Luster of Judea; Teah Hodge of Judea; Trey Hodge of Judea; A. J. Stells of Judea; Ilekea Luster of Judea; Devin Hodge of Judea; Johnathon Mathis of Smithland; Ashae Smith of Judea; Clifford Justice of Smithland; and Makini Shakur of Smithland.

 

Weather Conditions:  The morning low temperature was 40 F and the afternoon high was 42 F.  Skies were cloudy with a breeze from the north.  We had a light rain the night before.

Number of Nets:  Thirteen (13)

 

Time:  We started putting up nets at 9:45 a.m. and all nets were closed by 4:45 p.m.
