Bird Banding at Caddo Lake

Saturday, May 4, 2013:  Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding activities.  Other participants and visitors included Tom Walker of Jefferson; Ron & Carolyn Bova -- Quitman; Charles A. Steger -- Atlanta, Texas; Byron Waldrop -- Jefferson; Heidi Bender -- Jefferson; Anita Walker -- Avinger; Mike & Mary Scott, and daughter, Kaitlynn -- League City, Texas; Karmen Hines -- League City; Larry & Greer Lipscomb -- Flint, Texas. 

 
Weather Conditions:  The morning low temperature was 36º F which is a new record low for May 4.   The afternoon high was 66º F.  The sky was clear in the morning and cloudy in the afternoon.  It was windy, out of the north.


Number of Nets:  Twelve (12)

 

Time:  We began putting up the nets at 9:00 a.m. and all nets were closed by 4:15 p.m.
