Saturday, November 1, 2008: Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding activities.  Other participants and visitors included Tom Walker of Jefferson, Tony Novak of Karnack, Diane Jones of Jonesville, Joy Jones of Marshall, Paul & Jo Anne Tidwell of Jefferson, Jon & Vonda Look of Hideaway, Texas; Sue Simmons of Karnack; Nigel & Shirley Shivers of Karnack; Colette Lassberg of Houston; Curt Prudhomme of Houston; P.J. & Rus Pugh of Grapevine, Texas. 

 

Weather Conditions:  The morning low temperature was 52 F and the afternoon high was 78 F.  Skies were cloudy in the morning and partly cloudy in the afternoon, with little wind.

Number of Nets:  Eleven (11)

 

Time:  We started putting up nets at 8:20 a.m. and all nets were closed by 5:00 p.m.

Saturday, November 22, 2008:  Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding activities.  Other participants and visitors included Tom Walker of Jefferson, Colleen Cookson of Shreveport, and Mike Weber of Jefferson, and Donna Orr of Longview.  

 

Weather Conditions:  The morning low temperature was 33 F and the afternoon high was 47 F.  The sky was cloudy, with a breeze from the south.

Number of Nets:  Thirteen (13)

 

Time:  We started putting up nets at 9:00 a.m. and all nets were closed by 4:15 p.m.
