Bird Banding at Caddo Lake

Saturday, November 22, 2014:  Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding activities.  Other participants and visitors included our host Tom Walker; Charles Steger of Atlanta, Texas; Becky Gullette of Carthage; Cadie Lawrence of Panola College, Carthage; Joanna Martel of Panola College, Carthage; Caitlin Elliott of Panola College, Carthage; Anita Walker of Avinger; Beth Honea, and her son Nat of DeBerry; Herman Hazard of Karnack; Clifton Trusty and his son and daughter Kyle and Raven of Linden

 

Weather Conditions:  The morning low temperature was 54 F and the afternoon high was 64 F The sky was partly cloudy in the morning and heavily overcast during the afternoon, with a rain system approaching from the west.  This location had 0.95" of rain the previous day.  


Number of Nets:  Eleven (11)

 

Time:  We started setting up nets at 9:00 a.m. and all nets were closed by 4:50 pm.
