Bird Banding at Caddo Lake

Saturday, October 12, 2013:  Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding activities.  Other participants and visitors included our host Tom Walker; Sandi Smith and son, Chance from Stanley, Louisiana; Charles Steger of Atlanta, Texas; Stephen Guyer of Marshall;

John Fyffe of Marshall; and Darrell Hudson of Carthage.

Weather Conditions:  The morning low temperature was 65 F and the afternoon high was 83 F It was overcast with a threat of rain, but there was little to no wind.  


Number of Nets:  Ten (10)

 

Time:  We started setting up nets at 9:15 a.m., and when we heard thunder at 1:10 p.m. we began closing nets and stopped bird banding.
