Monday, September 6, 2004 (Labor Day):  Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding efforts.  Other participants included Tom Walker of Jefferson, Eric Walsh of Shreveport, Marshall Jones and daughter Catherine of Shreveport, Cara Brady of Irving, Michael Walker and daughter Emma of Shelbyville, Tim Wilson of Linden, Jolene Turner of Hughes Springs, Diane Jones of Jonesville, Ron Munden of Scottsville, Dorothy Metzler of Longview and her niece Debbie Cantrell of Terrell. 

 

Location:  The banding activities took place just west of Caddo Lake in Marion County on Boots Walker Road (near Jefferson, Texas).

 

Weather Conditions:  The morning low temperature was around 73 F, and the afternoon high was approximately 87 F, with weather alternating between sun and light showers.
 

Number of Nets:  Nine (9) 

 

Time:  Nets were up by 10:00 a.m. and down by 4:30 p.m.
